Oracle and Me

Hi, I’m Francisco Rivas. I have spent my entire career in the Oracle ecosystem – more than two decades – learning along the way from great companies and even greater colleagues. I’m an Oracle Certified Master, a TOGAF-certified architect, and an Oracle ACE. Today I work at Oracle as a Master Principal Cloud Engineer.

This blog is where I track what’s happening in the Oracle ecosystem – engineered systems, cloud, and database technology – and share what I learn along the way.

I wanted to write a more human kind of blog. One that focuses less on the commands and more on what a feature is actually for: how it works, which problems it solves, and the key use cases behind it. Not so much the “what” or the “how”, but the “why”. I treat my readers the way I would like to be treated: as experienced professionals who want the big picture before digging into the details. Once you have that context, the details get a lot easier to follow. And when it comes to the step-by-step procedures, you are in good hands elsewhere: there are excellent reference sites out there that do that job brilliantly.
